Mickey!

I know I've had a very long break from blogging. But I'm back!!! And super excited! I'm about to embark upon a new journey in my life and it's exciting and scary all at the same time. But starting my new life I hope to start blogging again and make sure that I really stick to it.

I love this outfit! I saw this adorable sweater at H&M and had to have it. This is probably the most adorable Mickey I've ever seen!! And it was a surprisingly warm outfit.

Birthday Date Night

I'm not one who's usually big on birthdays, but one thing I do like about birthdays is having the excuse to dress up. Last night my boyfriend and I celebrated a late birthday for me. My boyfriend loved this outfit, and I'm glad he did.

I actually got this necklace from my aunt a few years ago as a birthday gift.

Most of the pieces that I'm wearing are from Charlotte Russe. I find that a lot of their clothing in size XS fit me well. I like their clothes because they are cute and affordable.

PFC Challenge: Candy Colorized

I'm baaack! I just finished school which was crazy, and I thought I'd have a lot more time to blog being finished with school but I've been crazy busy with work. I really want to keep up with my blog and this PFC challenge was the perfect excuse to blog! I've been trying to eat healthy, so candy has definitely been eliminated from my diet, but I couldn't pass this challenge up. I was looking for M&Ms at Walmart, but couldn't find them for some reason, so I settled on these.. and somehow I ended up picking 2 pinks!!!! I was like ??? until I looked inside of the box and most of them were pink! I was like boo!!! I wish they had more green apple ones! but they only had 1! of course pink has to be the one color I don't have in my closet!! So I had to improvise.. I stole my little sister's clothes. She didn't have too many pink items either... but.. I did what I could.

This challenge is being held by SewPetiteGal. 

Having picked 2 pink candies I couldn't just choose 1 pink item. So I went with 2. This isn't something I would typically wear. But I felt that it worked for this challenge..

 I layered a hot pink cami over this dress from Hollister which had a white top and threw on this blazer to kind of tone down the pink. Since the skirt seemed summery I chose to wear some wedges.

Here's the challenge

Summer Wedding--Create an outfit for a summer wedding (the dress code is up to you). For bonus points (and this is what I'll be doing!) try to make your whole outfit, head to toe, come in under $100! (Or, exclude shoes and accessories to meet the $100 mark.)

For this challenge I chose a bright light weight dress and wedges.

Dress: Forever 21 - Purchased black friday for around $17 or less.. forgot the actual price, but def under $20.

Wedges: Payless Christian Siriano- $29.99 I think you can get this now for $19.99

Earrings: Forever 21- Probably $6 at most.

Total this outfit was about $52.99.. I think it definitely could have been cheaper than that too! Sorry for the blurry pictures! Hope you enjoy!

New goals

Unfortunately this is not an outfit post, oh how I wish it were... Since my last blog post I've been really wanting to put some good outfits together, and although I have put some outfits together and have gone about taking pictures of my outfits, they just didn't sit well with me... I feel that my wardrobe is pretty dated.. I feel like I haven't shopped for clothes in like 2 years! Sure I purchase a few pieces here and there, mostly sale items, but I haven't really shopped for clothes in a long time. I don't feel inspired with my current wardrobe. And of course I'd LOVE to be like "well enough with being bummed about your sad closet go shopping!" but the sad truth is I just don't have the money for it.

I think something else that kinda bums me out is I've been gaining some weight... I would have to thank my love for junk food and laziness for that.. sigh.. When I take outfit pictures and look at them I don't like the outcome..  But I am the only one to blame for that. I eat junk food probably 98% of the time... I hate vegetables.. and the only green I like to eat is candy (I LOVE green apple flavored candy!!!!!), and anything in a green potato chip bag(sour cream and onion chips LOVE).. ok enough with my fatty ways.. I also am a pretty inactive person. My gym membership expired a year ago and I have yet to renew my membership or find a new gym... My struggle with gym finding is that it's so expensive and the one that I want to go to that's in my price range is just so far.

But all in all I gotta work with what I have. I really like blogging. I like the process of it, and I love that it has really motivated me to try and put together outfits for my day to day life, whether or not I have time to take pictures of them. This blog is really helping me with my goal. So with that, I have made 2 more goals for myself.  That I'm hoping this blog will kinda force me to stay on track..

1. Try really hard to work with the items in my closet. Pull out clothes that I bought but never wear.

2. Get healthy. Eat better, and be more active!

Ok.. enough with this long post about nothing.. promise next post will be fashion related..

Plain Jenn

I have been gone for a little bit because I've been battling strep throat for the past couple of weeks. I'm getting much better though. On top of being sick, I've been crazy at work and school. But hopefully I'll be able to get on with blogging. This is pretty much my every day outfit.

Denim shorts- because of the super hot weather.

 My beloved flip flops. I don't know if it's a California thing... but I live in my flip flops, and by living in them I mean I LIVE in them.. Like I have flip flop tan lines.. it's pretty sad.. You can also tell by this pic that they've definitely been worn. I've gone through many many flip flops in my life, and these are my favorite flip flops. These are by Reef and they are about the most comfortable flip flops ever. I've gone through about 3 pairs of these already.. I prefer these over those rubber ones that they sell at Old Navy because I don't slip in these when I'm walking on wet floors.

Favorites

Sundays are my absolute FAVORITE day of the week. I associate Sundays with relaxing, family, and friends. Today was a very good Sunday, had brunch and hung out with girlfriends all day just chit chatting away. Love girlfriends. Besides Sundays, this is one of my favorite go to outfits. It's so easy, and comfy.

This is my FAVORITE blazer. I purchased it at Nordstroms I wanna say a year and a half to two years ago, and it is my absolute favorite thing ever. It was the first blazer that I found that fit really well that didn't have to get tailored. It's by a brand called Frenchi, and the XS fits SO well. The sleeves are scrunched up on the side, and I think that just makes it more relaxed.

And yes, I have braces. I just couldn't hide them any longer. I am a teeth smiler... braces are just so embarrassing.. hopefully they will be off soon and I will be smiling quite a bit!

Hey everyone! Weather lately has been so nice and sunny!! I wore this outfit Sunday to hangout with my family. I really love dresses like this because they are so easy to wear! And please excuse my squinting I have no idea what happened to my sunglasses haha!

 The bad thing about these turnlock purses... sometimes you forget and or are too lazy to close them all the time! I didn't even think about my purse while taking these pics! I'm still kind of shy taking pics, so I was trying to get the pics snapped before my whole family came out of the house!

 These wedges are so comfy!! Sorry my little toe popped out in this pic.. I love these wedges though! They are from Payless the Christian Siriano line. I don't typically go to Payless for shoes because shoes in my size are usually old lady looking, or kids shoes. I have tiny feet so sometimes it's hard to find shoes that fit. I found these a few weeks ago at a Payless and was really excited. Christian Siriano for Payless also has other super cute shoes that are affordable. I thought I would just try these first to see how these were and I gotta say.. I LOVE them!

 I have had these boots for a few years now, and I love them! They are classic and are now comfy cause I've broken them in. What I love about these boots is that I don't have a huge gap space in the calf area.

 Hair change! I was originally wearing this outfit with my hair in a bun because my hair was still drying from the shower.. It's probably horrible to throw your hair up when it's wet, but I do it because I hate when my clothes get all wet from my long wet hair!

Hat: Target

This top is a really long tunic that I just tucked into some basic jean shorts. I love the color of the top, it's a beautiful red/orange color. The pictures show this top more orange than it really is, it's really more red than orange.

So which look was better? Bun or hat?

Introduction!

Hey everyone! My name is Jennifer, or Jenn, whichever you prefer. I am beginning this blog so I won't be such a lazy dresser. For the past year and a half my life has been consumed by work and school so that hasn't left me a lot of time to think about what I'm going to wear. When I'm not working I find myself in a hoodie, tank top, jeans, and flip flops, or in my pajamas wanting to sleep all day. That's just not me. I LOVE shopping, clothes, dressing up, and being a girl. So through this blog I'm hoping that I will regain a little bit of myself back, and hopefully learn a lot along the way.

I also struggle with being a petite! Of course you could probably tell by the name. I'm actually a really proud 4'11 petite, I mean there isn't much I can do to change that, so I might as well embrace it! I just hate the struggles of finding clothes that fit!... and the frustrations of finding clothes and shoes that I LOVE but don't fit because I'm petite. But.. when I find things that fit I get VERY excited. So hopefully I will post some exciting finds in the future!

I'm really excited to begin this blog. I've been wanting to start it for quite some time.. but was a little intimidated because I'm NO model, and am super awkward in front of the camera.. so please excuse my awkward photos.. I'm sure over time I might get used to being in front of the camera..
